β #SimonSays...Hey there... Okay, waaaait, wait, wait, can time slow down for a sec? β How can it be Fall already? With the change of seasons, one thing I've been thinking about lately is how we often think that something "far off" will make us happy. We think traveling to a new place, getting a different job or meeting someone new will make us happy. But happiness will always be withheld if you believe it is somewhere else. Somewhere in the future.... The secret is to find joy in the people and places that are close to you right NOW. Being present and enjoying the journey is something I'm working on....and I want to encourage you, too. So let me ask you: In what areas are you putting off happiness in your life? XO, π Jules π Content Iβm Consumingβ¦ποΈ Article - The Perils of Deferred Happiness (WSJ) Speaking of happiness...The Wall Street Journal recently released a visual breaking down how people spend their time in retirement. The majority of a retiree's time is spent on sleeping (9 hours), relaxing and leisure (6 hours), and watching television (4.5 hours). Most of us create this beautiful image of what retirement will look like, but the reality is (likely) much different. LIVE now. Find Happiness right where you're at.... don't wait until 65+ π Book - 10x Is Easier Than 2x: How World-Class Entrepreneurs Achieve More by Doing Less β Since I'm working for a start-up now, I've been reading more entrepreneur books. Dan Sullivan, a leading coach for successful entrepreneurs, believes that achieving 10X growth is easier than aiming for just 2X. What the heck? It's not about working harder; instead, it's learning to value our time more to create more meaningful connections and have more of an impact on our work. Daniel Priestley, a seasoned entrepreneur and shares ahh-mazing insights throughout the entire episode. My biggest takeaway: There are five core strengths that can make someone a key person of influence, and like any other skills, anyone can learn and develop these strengths." We can all be entrepreneurs -- it's learned, not innate. βοΈ My Latest Blogs and Guest Posts #SimonSaysHere are the most popular articles from the last month! π How Long Does It Take To Recover From Burnout? Alexander π Final thoughtsAs we begin a new season, I invite you to re-think your idea of happiness & connections... I've come to realize that many of us, including me, can find ourselves in a rut sometimes, caught in thoughts like, "They haven't reached out to me, so why should I make the first move?" But Iβve learned that if you miss your friend, just pick up the phone and call them. Itβs unnecessary to engage in a silent standoff over whoβs going to take the first step. Happiness, after all, is found in the joy of shared experiences and the comfort of genuine connections, not in who initiates them. Here's to a week filled with true happiness, connection & purpose. Till next time, XO π β |

#SimonSays Jules & Paul @ Martha's Vineyard I blinked, and its mid August. Where did the summer go? We've been on the move -- traveling, entertaining, and making the most of the long summer days. While I love our friends and family dearly, sometimes I need to remind myself that it's okay to feel overwhelmed by all this socialization and step back. I work hard to keep balance and boundaries, but sometimes I feel guilty. Aren't I supposed to be generous? Am I rude if I say no to this? Shouldn't...
#SimonSays... Hey there... Coming at you from 35,000 feet -- Yes, we've been jet-set the last few weeks, which has been awesome, but my inner homebody is screaming out! Which reminds me, I recently wrote a blog that resonated with MANY of you. I couldn't believe all the calls, texts and emails I received from friends saying, 'Wow, that's me too? (thanks for those, btw!) If you haven't had the chance, give it a read: IT TOOK ME 40 YEARS & SEVERE BURNOUT TO REALIZE I WAS AN INTROVERTED...
#SimonSays... Hey there... It's my birthday month! π And there's nothing quite like a trip around the sun to get you thinking.... You know how it goes β we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of chasing success. Society has this way of conditioning us to always strive for the next big thing β the degree, the job, the partner, the family. But in doing so, we often lose sight of what truly matters. We forget to take a moment to pause and reflect on what we really want out of life. It's like...
